Friends Unfriend At The Weather’s Bend

Content 21+ It is more than a little bit interesting how stating one’s political views can ruin a friendship. So wise, the old saying about two things to avoid at a party: religion and politics. Well, religion can be put on the back burner at most punch bowl bashes these days, but politics always seems to find a new life no matter what. Kind of like it would be if serious fart smells were piped into crowded elevators, starting out mild and only moderately stinky on the top floor and increasing in stench on the way down. By the time the elevator reached the lobby, gas masks would be on auto-pilot, dropping from the ceiling, like on airplanes.

.

That’s what can happen when politics are released into the room.

.

I have experienced this from both directions. First, a little background on yours truly. At one time I was very much a liberal. I vociferously and actively supported the Civil Rights Movement – and would have supported any feminist movement I could find, had there been one.’Gay Rights’ was unheard of even in that hippie-filled carnival of the 1960s. But I would have supported it. I was a teenager when the two Kennedy brothers were assassinated, and Martin Luther King was murdered in the same decade. I was a basket case when Bobby Kennedy got killed. I hated the Vietnam War.

.

Later, I supported Bill Clinton. Especially when the Republicans impeached him for an offense that the French, Spanish, and Italians would have laughed at. This was the blow job that made Monica Lewinsky famous – a celebrity whose public appearances still earn her a payday and whose utterances are regarded with reverence by feminists. Maybe her face wouldn’t have launched a thousand ships (as Marlowe wrote of Helen of Troy) but her lips certainly lit up the Oval Office. I still supported Slick Willie. I thought – and continue to believe – that Bill Clinton was a great president, but such was the puritanical outrage that nobody remembers that. Of course a lot of the OMG’s!! – was bullshit politics, and the main players, Ken Starr and the Hog of the Millennium Linda Trippe, should have been fed to a pack of rottweilers. But never lose track of America’s puritan underpinnings, dating back to the Salem Witch Trials.

It’s like this: Americans love and promote sex in the market place because Sex Sells, and how can you be an American if, at heart, you believe in anything but dollars? Sex is the very least of what people will do for money. Yet … .unlike the Mediterranean and Island types in the Caribbean and off the coasts of Everywhere Else, who celebrate human sexuality with unrestrained and slavering joy – there remains in the American psyche a small dark room – tiny little place but grim and full of shame – where Christian Guilt presides and rumors of hellfire come up like sparks in the gloom. That’s why, whereas a Russian woman will have sex and get up and go about her business (Czechs and Germans, etc, etc., are the same), American women will follow up an almost-but-not-quite-orgasm with long discussion (“Why did we just do that, Tyler?”) followed by a trip to her therapist. But, like Christmas, it can be sold. So there you go.

.

Al Gore was not inspiring, but back then I liked him more than George W. (Not so sure now.) In the meantime – and here is one of the points I wish to discuss – my politics began to change. From a staunch supporter of Everything Black, I started to see race cards and manipulation games. I saw clearly that even though Black shills kept screaming about plantations, slavery, and the KKK, multitudes of opportunities, often state-supported, had emerged. Little by little, while not forgetting about the Old South and Jim Crow, I began to view Blacks with a sterner eye – as what happens when you have done all you can and you expect to see the results.

.

I began to recognize that while millions of Black people who entered the mainstream, didn’t fuck up (which does NOT mean being an ‘Uncle Tom’ – one of the most despicable and wrong-headed labels ever invented to disparage Blacks who do not spend all their time worrying about being ‘Black’) and who just tried to be good citizens and successful ‘capitalists’ like everyone ese – the Media (run by liberals from the get-go) insisted on making victims out of the perpetual underachievers, criminals, and General No-Goods in the Black ‘Community’. So I stopped being as sympathetic as I once was.

.

No, I didn’t lose my mind. No, I didn’t read Mein Kampf. No, I didn’t move to Idaho and become part of the Militia. Not a chance. I still felt compassion where compassion was due.

.

Likewise, I was a feminist before they even invented the term. (I go back a ways). To me the very idea that a woman could be denied her full and unalienable rights was preposterous. I didn’t need special training to understand this. It came as natural as breathing. Immigration was not an issue; we were all immigrants, but we didn’t see mosques in our towns. In fact, I never liked religion. Saw through it from the start.

.

.

So I became a lapsed liberal. A lot of this was brought on by the so-called ‘progressives’ (the Woke) who decided that ‘identity politics’ needed to be wedged into every compartment of human existence, And it was then that I found out that I was BY DEFINITION a racist, sexist, fascist, homophobic, Islamaphopic beneficiary and lifelong recipient of ‘white privilege’ endowed by the PATRIARCHY. A lifetime birthright membership to the Caucasian Country Club. Evidently they were playing ‘DixieLand’ when I was born, and the nurses were all wearing blackface and dancing a softshoe.

.

Suddenly, I was being fed an unsavory diet of self-serving, elitist, rich white lady liberal and black hustler LIES. This had nothing whatsoever with real inclusion and diversity; it was all political posturing. The Radical Left are as grand purveyors of hate as anything that has ever come along.

.

Enter Donald Trump. Good God how nuts the progressives went, and they are still that way. But Trump is a winner. A charismatic leader. But when I happened to whisper this opinion, I was met with G-A-S-P-S. Sadly, very sadly for me – but apparently inevitably – my old liberal friends began to desert me. I didn’t desert them; they deserted me. My views were no longer politically correct (they had never been but had passed muster), and so I no longer qualified for the sensitivity crowd. Now it was as though I was wearing my new ‘Fascism Forever’ uniform.

.

But on the other side of the world, in Russia where I had spent 10 years working and making friends that stand to this day, I started perceiving obvious changes in how the Dictator-President Vladimir Putin was behaving. From seeming like a macho guy who had his wits about him (relations with “‘Our Western Partners” had never been better in those days between 2009-14) money was rolling into the Russian Federation like a billion golden bowling balls down as many gilded alleys), Putin decided that he was going to grab his place in history as the one who restored the Russian Empire by reviving the Soviet Union. To prove his point, he invaded Ukraine.

.

By the time he did that, I was living in Bulgaria (with my Russian wife), but practically all of my active friends (the American ones were now becoming more distant) were Russian. I thought that to some extent I had developed a Russian mentality and understood Russians. But as soon as I saw what Putin was doing, I became a no-holds-barred Ukraine supporter. And this was simply because I believed that what was happening was wrong.

.

.

.

.

My Russian friends and acquaintances were divided. Some hated the increasingly repressive regime so much that they fled the country to avoid military mobilization or being imprisoned for their views. The fact that Putin was really a ruthless KGB guy who would not hesitate to have his ‘enemies’ (which meant anyone not 100% loyal to his schemes) murdered became painfully clear. As I witnessed the carnage, I wondered how anyone could support this.

.

As it turned out, millions of Russians did. And that’s when ‘Z’ became visible everywhere as the Russian version of a swastika, and suddenly the ‘West’ was the demon who was trying to destroy Russia. Now the disappointing truth is this: Russia, for all its great durability and physical strength, is actually a nation whose people – except for the brazen few – are all too easily buckled by authority. And what I found out – to my surprise and alarm – was that they really like it. They have no idea how to live without a potentially brutal autocrat running the show because that’s all they’ve ever known.

.

And so, from Putin supporters I had to listen to how NATO wanted to crush Russia (never mind that these metro man pussies all over Europe couldn’t win a pillow fight, being too busy stepping aside for mosque building projects and providing free housing for millions of immigrants who never had any intention of contributing and becoming assimilated into the host nation’s culture.) Oh noooo, according to the Putin lovers, Russia was a peace loving, virtuous nation driven to defend itself in Ukraine against these rapacious, evil Western Capitalists, especially NATO whose vast army was poised at the border and ready to strike..

.

It was a tsunami of Bullshit and I said so. That lost me a few Russian friends I had really cherished, but not cherished enough to live a lie for.

.

So to sum up, my free-will political views have lost me American friends because now I am a fascist, and have lost me Russian friends because I support the LGBTQ-loving decadent, imperialistic, Russo-phobic, capital West.

.

Damned if you do and damned if you don’t.

.

So now IN FACT I am a complete and total supporter of the remarkable and resilient Donald Trump. He is a leader, a man of action. Will my opinion of him ever change? That depends on Donald Trump. If he doesn’t let his current power go to his head; if he continues to keep his promises, attack progressive phoniness, and disrupt Democrat-sponsored corruption and selective extravagance, he will have my loyal support. As long as he remembers to stay humble enough to remember that is working for the people.

.

Putin? I don’t think I will ever admire this man except for his dogged determination and the fact that his manhood exceeds that of the wank-wank Europeans. He has already been responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths. Not Zelensky, as Russian hawks try to make out. Putin – so let’s cut the misdirection and blah-blah about NATO, Bandera, Minsk Agreements, and all that. Putin invaded Ukraine with tanks and boots and bombers, and that’s that.

.

.

On the other hand, if present day Russia has been a dystopia in terms of its crushing of opposition and suppression of human rights, the West has also become something of a dystopia for different reasons that Russia does not suffer from. In the case of the West, it is the fact that now the criminals seem to have more rights than the regular, law-abiding citizens. Discussion of transgenders and accusations of racism are more important than building a defense system that doesn’t depend on American handouts (which Trump is poised to pull the plug on.)

.

The ‘progressive’ Americans have lost touch with the realities of life faced daily by the rank-and-file (whom they ridicule), and they refuse to really ‘wake up’ from being ‘woke’– which the voters rejected loud and clear in spite of a biased media who did everything possible, first to hide Biden’s decline into misty incompetence and then promote Harris like the Super Bowl of the Century even though her shallowness and inarticulate prattling was becoming more obvious every time she opened her mouth. Instead they harp and rage and throw tantrums about Donald Trump. Trump, Trump, Trump – that’s all they know. Such hatred towards a guy whose dick they suck every day because evidently they can’t get enough of him. That’s why they work his name into every discussion:

.

Person A: “Hi Joe, what’s the weather like today?”

Woke B: “As cold as Donald Trump’s Nazi heart.”

Person A: “Uh…Ok…So how are the kids?”

Woke B: “Fine. So what were you saying about Reichmeister Trump?”

Person A: “Nothing. I just asked about your kids.”

Woke B: Who? My kids? What’s that got to do with Slave Trader Trump?

.

They seem to have no understanding or recollection of the fact that Trump has already been President and the sky didn’t fall.

.

Maybe Putin and Trump will work together and soon end the war that Putin began. If so, I will applaud the efforts of both. But I see that already the Woke Media is starting a bunch of crap about Trump being Putin’s Punk. They say the same about Musk. Both of these guys are giving it to Donald up the ass. So says the Liberal Media.

.

Come correct, guys. Donald Trump is the dominant force in world politics today. Believe it. And all the hatred the democratic party can dream up is not going to change that. But I see that there is NOTHING that Donald Trump can do that will earn him fair play from these ass warts. Not even if he ends the war in Ukraine.

.

And I will always express my free will. I am just a guy. Not Woke, not a Nazi. If you who were my friends cannot forgive a difference of opinion, then bye-bye, arrivederci, fuck off. There is one thing I learned growing up in America. Be Yourself. I AM.
