Content advisory 14+ There were times when libraries experienced heavy traffic as readers pop in to find the latest release. Days when one could hardly go to bed without reading a chapter or two, but what is happening nowadays? More time is spent on leisure and scrolling up and down a screen. That doesn’t mean that books are not treasured. There are few serious readers left. Are you one of them? Did you know that those who read books will always rule those who only watch TV? Find out how)
Staring At A Screen Won’t Do You Any Favours
In fact, spending most of your precious with TV binges is the worst injustice you can do to yourself. It has got some adverse effects on your brain and health. I’m not saying it’s bad to watch your favorite movie or other programs. I mean, you must not substitute the time you need to read a book or a business journal on screens.
When you make TV bingeing part of your evening routine, it can lead to an addiction and you can’t help it but to sleeping your nights out watching what satisfies your instant gratification. At the end of the day, you end up getting poor quality sleep which affects your productivity the next day. Your overall work performance is compromised and you end up interfering with the quality of life that you were meant to live. Also, watching TV is a passive activity, thus you are not educating, not developing… What if you read a book instead?
Reading Improves Your Sleep
Quality sleep is an essential aspect of a healthy living. It helps you enjoy improved sleep. Reading books is a powerful brain and eye-opener. You are able to view situations from a clever viewpoint. It helps reduce stress. By reading books you become more intelligent.
Books Take You To A Literary World
Research shows that those who read books are less likely to be stressed. A book has the power to physically relax you, promote a healthy rate... It is linked to stronger brain health even as age catches up with you. It helps you shift attention from self and you become more compassionate to other people. A book educates and trains you. You build your own world with it.
TV Bingeing Promotes Unhealthy Living
Studies carried out show that those people who spend most of their time bingeing on TV tend to eat engage in mindless eating of unhealthy foods. In this case, if one is not careful to do routine physical exercises, the cognitive function may decline compared to those who read more, watch TV less and stay active.
Books Promote Healthy Relationships
When you become a regular guest to your local library (or read an e-book, which I prefer), you get an opportunity to mingle and interact with other like-minded persons (when discussing ideas, not artificial emotions created by TV actors). You make friends, you get contacts and you can freely exchange ideas. You get to know about a book that can help you out in your current situation or help you tackle a future challenge. You get connections that can change your life for good.
Successful People Read A Lot
If you want to become successful and join part of the global team of people who influence the world, you can only harness this power from books. Successful people develop healthy reading habits, as it gives them active information processing, ability to create their own opinion, to self-develop. A lot of wisdom is hidden in books and it’s only through reading that you can tap this hidden power.
A Book Can Change Your Life – TV Can’t!
Books are of many diversities. Find a book that helps you achieve your goals in life and you will experience changes in it. You can then manage to socialize and relate with people from all walks of life. You can put yourself in other people’s shoes and feel with them. A book can help you become a great reader. But can bingeing on TV do all this in your life. Certainly not.
Who Rules The World?
When we say that those who read books will always rule those who only watch TV, you can now see this fact. Those who rule the world are not being ruled. And TV limits you, binds you, brings you in a cage, in a world of passive life, poisoned by propaganda and others’ emotions and opinions. No filters. Just consummation. Smart, healthy and active people rule the world. Life is about connections, self-development, ideas, creativeness, and…right, active position. People connect and come up with ideas that can move the universe. They work in teams, they explore…

the wistful nostalgia for a bygone era when libraries bustled with activity and the scent of ink and paper filled the air. They paint a poignant picture of a time when reading was not just a pastime, but a cherished ritual, with readers eagerly devouring the latest releases well into the night.
Moreover, the author’s assertion that “those who read books will always rule those who only watch TV” carries profound implications for our society.
